The Story Behind Charlie's Vintage
Where the shop started, who's behind it, and what Granola Cowgirl actually means.
The SHop
The best western wear was already made.
Finding the right piece of vintage is its own kind of magic. You know it the second you see it. Charlie's Vintage exists so that feeling doesn't live only at estate sales and back-of-the-rack thrift finds. I do the hunting so you don't have to. Every piece in the shop was chosen with care, with an eye for the right color, the right wear, and the right soul. If it's here, I picked it because I want it to go to someone who'll love it as much as I do.
THE WOMAN BEHIND the finds
Meet Charlie
I’ve always been a country girl. I grew up rollin’ in the mud and chasing my siblings through the forest, climbing fir trees in long dresses and flip-flops, making mud pies, and building little homes for ladybugs. I’m an Oregonian, through and through, and needed clothes that could handle the muck, the weather, and a life lived outdoors, rain or shine.
As a teen, I didn't love the clothes I owned. Nothing fit right. Nothing felt right, and I couldn't quite figure out why.
Then I tried on my first pair of vintage jeans, and it clicked!
The fit was different. It finally felt like my clothes were made for me and made for the farmgirl life.
Growing up among the evergreens, hazelnut orchards, and vineyards in Oregon’s moss-covered countryside instilled in me the desire to preserve nature and value things built to last. Vintage clothing carries that same spirit with durability and pieces that have already been worn, loved, and lived in.
As I grew, I realized it wasn't just me. There were other women out there looking for the same thing. Clothes that fit, made with care and quality, and a more thoughtful, sustainable way to shop.
And Charlie’s Vintage was born.
What is Granola cowgirl
Granola Cowgirl
/gra-NO-la COW-girl/ noun
A slow-living version of western wear, built for weather, forest, and days spent outside. Warm earthy tones, natural fibers, and pieces that already look like they've been somewhere. Cowboy boots in the forest. Pearl snaps under canvas jackets. Vintage Rockies tucked into wool socks on a morning hike.
Someone who was shaped by the outdoors long before she dressed the part. Who looks for things that are built to last, worn with time, and meant to live in.
